I just had to share the final result of my ho’oponopono meditation-mantra practice, described previously. On the tenth day, the object of my grief who had cut off communication with me, came back to me!
Her departure from my life was very cruel. A couple of months ago she informed me that she was seeing another man. I knew at that moment my relationship with her would change and I would simply have to accept this. Then came the catastrophic floods in Rio Grande do Sul, the epicenter of which is Canoas, where the love of my life lives.
Naturally I was very concerned for her, but she being the heroic figure she is, was focused on helping others in the area, primarily through spreading the word on social media about how to donate. She was not particularly interested in my feelings at the time. I had always wanted to get her out of Brazil but she stubbornly stayed.
We had a misunderstanding about these differences in priorities. She said she wanted to buy an inflatable mattress to float on; I said, ‘surely your new rich boyfriend can help you with that — you don’t need me.’ And her stinging reply: ‘I’ll be safe, he’s going to buy me an apartment on the fifth floor because he wants to marry me.’
Those were her last words to me and a few days later I discovered that I was blocked on all channels. I contacted her sister, only saying that I wanted to write her a letter, if she would receive it.
While practicing the meditation four times a day, the best I had hoped for was a healing of the rift, or minimally, acceptance that life would go on without her.
I spent ten days writing that letter, consolidating my thoughts and feelings on the importance, meaning, and dimensions of our relationship and on the cause of the rift. However, wanting it to be perfect, I never sent it.
On the tenth day, she unblocked me and contacted me, apparently irritated that she’d gotten wind of my contact with her sister, who only had conveyed that I was worried about her. She asked what I said to her sister, to which I responded, ‘nothing, but I was going to send this.’ And I sent a link to my draft. She read it and understood my point of view, and in large part agreed with me. And that was the end of the misunderstanding. From then on, it was as if nothing had happened. She also said she stopped seeing the suitor, not wanting to lead him on.
So there you have it. It’s impossible to know whether the apparently permanent rift was imaginary on my part, or just a temporary pause to sort out our thoughts, feelings, and priorities—or indeed whether some telepathic influence occurred. But the end result, to me, is miraculous.
Afterword
If you are interested in helping the affected in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, I can confirm that this church in Paraná has mobilized donations, supplies, and trucking to the devastated areas:
Igreja do Porto de Cristo
CNPJ: 40.332.195/0001-91 (business acct, number for confirmation)
BANCO DO BRASIL S.A.
Agência: 2100 (branch)
Conta: 26863-1 (account number)
Type: conta corrente (checking acct)
I have found it easiest to send money to Brazil either using Xoom (PayPal) or Wise.com. Wise is instantaneous. Their fee is based on the amount. For higher amounts, Xoom is better because it's a flat rate. For smaller amounts definitely wise is the best.
My friend from Brazil who donates to the above-mentioned church, said this:
"This church is in Paraná but has collection centers in several locations, different states. Local trucks bring the loads from these donation centers to Paraná. In Paraná there are volunteer drivers loading the trucks that go to RS. When they arrive to RS in also different distribution centers, pastors and volunteers of 27 local churches load cars and smaller trucks do the distribution to the shelters and neighborhoods.
"I'm sending money to them because the pastor is a based guy. I've been following him for years on YouTube although I don't really have a religion. He's also a patriot and former army. They're reliable enough for me to send them money. And they break everything down and film what they do. They're kinda local in Paraná and have cells of the church in RS."
